Jayalakshmi, IPS My initial posting was at Sethia Thoppe and my outstanding service earned nominations for several prestigious awards, including the Prime Minister’s Gallantry Award, President’s Life Saving Medal, and the Kalpana Chawla Award. I had the distinction of being appointed as the first Deputy Commissioner of Police in the newly established Crime Against Women and Children Wing, working under the Commissioner of Police. My committed and strategic efforts in this role led to my selection as the Best Officer in South East Asia Pacific Region for best practices in the prevention of crimes against women and children. I assumed charge as Chief Security Officer, CMRL.

Under the guidance of Thiru M.A. Siddique, IAS, I initiated the launch of the “PINK SQUAD” an exclusive women’s safety initiative on 15.03.2024, aimed at ensuring the security and confidence of female passengers in Chennai Metro. Awarded President Medal for meritorious service.
