Alexandra FERREIRA DE CARVALHO

Alexandra Ferreira de Carvalho has a Law degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon, and since April 2023 has been Chief Executive Officer of Transtejo-Soflusa, the company responsible for providing the public ferry service across the River Tagus. From November 2014 to April 2023, she held the position of Secretary-General of the Ministry of Environment, in which capacity she was responsible for coordinating the Ministry’s international activity and designing strategies for green growth to ensure transition to a low carbon society.

From January 2017, she also managed the Environment Fund, a financial instrument created in 2017 to support environmental policies in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals. In the 10 years prior to this, she was the Director of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Environment.
