ARTE: Discover a remote train control via tablet
The visit will showcase a solution for advanced automated train operations. The Autonomous Regional Train Evolution (ARTE) project focuses on retrofitting existing trains to achieve the highest level of automation (GoA4), ultimately enhancing capacity and efficiency without the need for new infrastructure.
In case assistance is needed, trains can be remote controlled from a control room or by a train attendant. Participants can expect a demonstration of the remote train control in an area near the station Hamburg Harburg.
Good info to know: This technical visit is organised by Alstom. Collaboration among key stakeholders, including the Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen, German Aerospace Center and the Technical University of Berlin, as well as funding by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection has been crucial for the project’s advancement.
