ACTIVE SECTOR ASSOCIATION – IN DIALOGUE WITH POLITICS AND ECONOMY The Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) unites around 700 public passenger and rail freight transport companies in Germany. It advises members and policymakers, promotes exchange of knowledge and experience, and develops technical, legal, operational, and economic standards. VDV represents its members' interests at national and European levels, with offices in Cologne, Berlin, and Brussels. Regional interests are addressed by nine groups, while over 400 experts work voluntarily in 25 committees. VDV’s history dates back to 1846; it has existed in its current form since 1991.
