Hamburg Summit Wrap Up Now Available!

The UITP Summit 2025 in Hamburg was THE place to be for the global public transport community. Over 10,000 participants from 100+ countries filled the halls of the Hamburg Messe to listen to 373 speakers from more than 50 countries and visit the 400+ exhibitors spread across 30,000m2.

With this Summit wrap-up, you can see everything the Summit had, and has, to offer. From the sessions and the exhibition, to networking opportunities, and major announcements, it’s all here.

A Journey Through the UITP Summit in Hamburg

The wrap-up takes you on a journey through the UITP Summit, either reliving your experience in Hamburg or seeing what you missed out on this time!

The message on the ground in Hamburg was clear: public transport is a sector looking to the future! From the many benefits of public transport, to the importance of financing for public transport and its role in thriving cities, an overview of the key insights shared by speakers is included inside.

All of these insights were on display in sessions across the four days of the Summit across six programme ‘Tracks’:

  • Aligning mobility planning with the SDGs
  • Driving policies to net zero
  • Focus on people and communities
  • Operating according to local needs
  • Sustainable mobility as a lifestyle
  • Technologies for change

In the wrap-up you’ll also find more about the future of urban mobility that was on full display by through several tailor-made Innovation Guided Tours through the four halls of the exhibition space. They shone a spotlight on the latest products and new solutions in public transport featured at the Summit.

The host city Hamburg also showcased its own innovative projects through 23 different technical visits featuring autonomous U-Bahn testing, real-time passenger information for waterborne public transport, an electric bus depot, and the role of public transport in accessible and walkable cities.

Looking to the future: World Public Transport Day

And during the Closing Ceremony, there was one special announcement for the future: 17 April, 2026 will be the first annual World Public Transport Day! Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more soon.
